Walserwaeg Trail

An evocative 43km loop with 3,200m of elevation gain, offering stunning views across the Monte Rosa massif. The itinerary entails passing the Gabiet dam in the wild Valdobbiola valley, via Ospizio Sottile and the characteristic villages of Alpenzu. However, the real “pearl” is the antique Walser footpaths trail (WalserWaeg), a legacy of the historic Walser community that settled in these territories from 1100 AD and whose descendants still inhabit these valleys, proudly preserving their origins and traditions. Ideal for those who love technical and demanding trails without forgoing the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
