Monte Rosa Trail
A journey of discovery to Monte Rosa.
A beautiful 90-kilometre route with 7,000 metres of elevation gain, starting from Pont-Saint-Martin, a town nestled in the vineyards of the Lower Aosta Valley. You will start by crossing the ancient Roman bridge, and then head into the Lys Valley, where you will find small villages full of charm and tradition. You will then reach Val d'Ayas, cross the historic castle of Graines, and through a series of splendid alpine lakes - with the majestic Matterhorn range right in front of you - you'll arrive to the Rothorn Pass, leading to the villages of Gressoney-La-Trinité and Gressoney-Saint-Jean. A final stretch of a real mountain landscape with breathtaking views will lead you to your destination, and the iconic Monte Rosa (which translates as "Pink Mountain") will be your guide, accompanying you to the finish line in Gressoney-Saint-Jean.
