Les sentiers des Valdôtains

An extraordinary 120 km route with 8,300 m of elevation gain, which will take you on an exciting journey towards two majestic 4000-meter peaks in the Alps: Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. The race starts in Aosta, vibrant capital of the Region, with an evocative section through the valley of Saint-Barthlemy, whose iconic observatory is a destination for many passionate astronomers. The route continues towards Valtournenche travelling along a spectacular balcony overlooking the majestic Matterhorn, for centuries the goal of thousands of mountain climbers. On reaching the valley of Cime Bianche the route heads towards the open and sunny Val d’Ayas, and it is at this point that you will see the more extensive massif in the Alps, Monte Rosa. This breathtaking view will be with you all along your journey through the typical Walser villages and lead you to the coveted finish line in the Gressoney Valley.
